Our Goals for the league are as follows:
Team Size - a team is a group of 2 players who compete as a team on the league.
Flex - times and places of play are flexible. We realize not all communities have the ability to reserve courts. Play occurs over several weeks and is flexible enough to deal with non-dedicated courts and peoples busy schedules.
Round Robin - each team will play a match against every other team in their assigned bracket.
Competitive - games and matches are intended to be fun but competitive; Players may come with their own team but you can signup by yourself and be assigned to a team. Teams will be assigned to divisions based on the average team rating.
We summarize the highlights of the league but all details from DUPR can be found with the link below.
Each division consist of 5 or 6 teams of 2 players. Each team will play each other team in the division.
The divisions will be organized by DUPR Rating and location to keep matches competitive and reduce travel time. The goal is to ensure no two teams in the division are more than 0.5 points apart. So, a team of players with a total DUPR of 7.0 (avg. 3.5) will not play against other teams of less than 6.5 (avg. 3.25) or higher than 7.5 (avg. 3.75).
A captain will be assigned to each team.
Match Length: A match will be 3 or 5 games of 11 win by 2 or 15 win by 2. The league director will publish the choice before starting the league. Due to sharing of courts the scoring may be restricted by the norms for your local courts.
Sides and Serve: Each game will alternate playing sides and first server, the last game of the match teams will sides when a team reaches 6 for win by 11, 8 for win by 15. At the start of the match a random selection process will be used to determine preference of side or serve.
Matches between teams are Round Robin, so you will play each other team once.
5 team brackets will play 4 matches (1 with each other team).
6 team brackets will play 5 matches (1 with each other team).
The weekly team schedule will be published in DUPR by the league director.
Play may happen anytime in the 5 week window. The games that need to be played will be published under the league in DUPR but there is no specific order the games must be played. ALL GAMES must be completed by the end of the league date. Games not played will be considered a loss to one or both teams, The league director will make this decision.
Captains of the two teams will make a decision where and when to play. The director will have published to the league which courts are admissible to play at.
If you are playing on public courts teams will need to rotate on and off according to the policy at your courts.
Review the Active Leagues for details of schedule and locations of play.
No substitutions are permitted once the league has started.
Please ensure you are aware of local policy with the courts you are using. Unless you have the ability to reserve courts for your matches you may have to share courts with others.
League winners will be decided by Team Matches, if team matches are tied then Games won and if games are tied finally by point differential.
The Rules and Regulations for this league are on this website. The League director has the discretion to make final decisions where there is any ambiguity.
The DUPR website will be used to record game scores and determine match winners,
